The When and How:

On December 7, 1941, the Japanese government orchestrated a surprise aerial attack on Pearl Harbor. Located in Hawaii, Pearl Harbor was an important American naval base. The Japanese attack fleet contained six aircraft carriers, two battleships, and hundreds of aircrafts.

The Why:

Japan spent the majority of the 20th century refining its economic, military, and political status. However, Japan was missing one crucial resource to meet its goal- and that was oil. Students, please watch this short video that explains in depth why Japan attacked the U.S for more resources.
